Flash can be very good in websites, or it can be badly misused. Just like most other tools. It exists as a powerful option for adding animation, video and various other effects and functionality.
It is a big shame that Flash is a closed standard, as it gives one company (Adobe) too much power in the web, which should be all about openness. So this sort of gives some credibility to Apple's decision not to support it. But not really. Afterall, Apple is happy for Flash to run in desktop versions of Safari.
Apple needs to be pragmatic and provide the best user experience they can. My guess is that there were originally significant technical hurdles to making Flash work well in the iPhone. But that was only 1 reason. They also wanted to push their own solutions (quicktime) and so maybe they haven't tried particularly hard to make Flash work. It hasn't been a top priority. It obviously is a bit of a problem now and they need to do something about it.
The best thing of all, however, is if Adobe would make Flash an open standard. So they can also stop whining here.

Nice upgrade, the color options on the small and big ones are kind of lame, but I hope they will work with a firewire to dock cable for those of us without USB 2.

Buyer satisfaction with other Apple products is clearly filtering down into Mac sales. This trend will only continue to strengthen.
let's hope so.

I heard that from someone else, I tried it but that's referring to the amount of times it repeats. If you don't respond it will repeat that many times until you do. This issue is the double vibrate right when you get the text. I can see how people like it, but it's just annoying for me. My emails and texts are usually in the same importance level and I need to respond to either of them ASAP. It just feels weird and kinda wish they had the option. Oh well. Maybe in 4.3.2

I wonder how computers and smartphones would look now if there was never an iPod. Apple might not ever have taken the leap and make the iPhone or the iPad. Cell phones might all be running windows mobile version 7 that would look just like winMo 6. We might not have an Android OS, or if we did, it might look totally different. Tablets might still look like they did in 2004. Microsoft might have rested on its laurels and never made Win7 as good as it is.

Nice update except for the videocard and maybe the price. It's good that it arrives now for the people who were waiting for the update.

iStudentUK, I understand what you are saying and agree with some of it. People do tend to develop their own worldview and then pick and choose external sources (religion, social groups, philosophies, etc.) to support the view they have already decided upon.
However, I can't agree that the Bible is "neutral" or relative in that it can correctly be interpreted in any way someone chooses. The Bible is clear in it's express purpose as God's revelation of himself to mankind. The Bible is judged and interpreted against itself using the literary and textual tools of interpretation that we have available to us.
Like all communication it can only be correctly interpreted in light of the intended meaning of it's original author. This is where faith comes into the process. Followers of Christ hold to the belief that it is God's inspired and inerrant word. The living God is it's author and he inspired men to write within their own historical and literary context to specific audiences at a specific time. All of these contexts become clues that help guide us to His intended meaning. One of many gods staged a coup d'tat in heaven, or so claimed the exiled priests who wanted to assert their authority over their congregations by differentiating themselves from the competition. The only difference between the Hebrews and the other nearby cultures is that their priests claimed that the chief god they all shared had demoted his team to messenger status. In so doing, of course, they also slighted every other religion.

I was excited to see that blood gulch had be remade but after playing it a few times i have to say its one of my least favourite maps. There are too many vehicles and not enough vehicles killing weapons. Usually one person will get in a tank and if he is able to take out the other tank theres no real way to stop them. Particularly if they just sit up the back taking long shots leaving you no real chance to get close. Bungie needed to put a spartan laser on the map somewhere.

I don't want OTA updates, especially if it uses your data allocation. I can see it being an option, but definitely I want to be able to opt-in to. I much prefer using iTunes, it just seems to make everything consistent.

Lovely. I like white iMacs so much...
I'm a kinda nostalgic person and that white iMac is old enough to look nostalgic, but is recent enough to be still quite powerful and great to use. for me It would be perfect. looks like a 24 inch model right?

I think it's really funny (sad) that all the haters come out against RS. First off could you sound like bigger snots that RS is too lowbrow to buy your apple product from them. They're a retailer, that has survived by evolving when their core business has been decimated by the fact that technology in general is cheaper and more widely available than ever. Not for nothing, but the very products we're all coveting and supporting to no end, have evolved from garage built computers that were probably 90% RS parts!!!
I'm an Apple believer, and terribly disappointed that living in NYC I can't walk into a company store and walk out with my $800 appliance. Tomorrow morning the RS 1 block from my house will open at 9AM, and I'll walk out in 5 minutes with a product that I haven't been able to get in 3 weeks, after 'stopping' in at least 8 times, only to be turned away. The last time the Apple-droid from bum**** actually told me my best bet was to come back at 5AM and wait on line!
Dont forget your free phone LOL

Not sure about Voice Control... No matter how well it works, I will probably feel strange taking to a phone. And most of the time it's just easier to press a button than to say it.
This might be in response to Google's voice thing though, which also recognizes "Plain English" and works with speech-to-text instead of typing. This might be something cool for writing text messages and stuff like that, as typing on the iPhone isn't the best.
Actually, I've tried the Siri App, and the speaking part became pretty natural to me. But you could type stuff into it too. While it's currently very limited, the cool part was the contextualized searches and the potential that can have. Imagine a program that can access your calendar, notes, texts, Facebook, etc. through APIs and then be able to search for things accordingly. Like say you want to watch a certain movie tonight, it searches your calendar info to see where you're going to be tonight and finds the closest movie theater. Many other possibilities would make this awesome, perhaps especially in some good app developers' hands.

I assume you mean headless tower since all the iMacs and the MAC Mini are desktops......... Oh wait, isn't the MAC Pro a headless tower?
It's a workstation, not a desktop. Yes there is a difference.

Doesn't most of the internet use flash?
Most internet users do, yes. 96.79% of them infact (http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/). That site polls (and updates, so no duplicates) PC and Mac users who use Steam.

Are you calling those people who bought the iTunes beatles songs stupid?

I would guess that iPhone5 will be duel mode GSM and CMDA... so I would assume the 4G should be able to adapt to either.
isn't LTE a completely different spec than GSM or CDMA?

Yeah, great news indeed. I wish they'd actually manufacture in more countries like Nokia does.

What an a**.
Didn't you see the white 'just kidding' above the picture?
Once I started the rumor of the black Macbook actually beeing made of aluminum with some black vinyl on it (thus the $150 premium). A week later, I heard from someone totally messing up his Macbook trying to remove 'the black layer' on his brand new Macbook with a cutter. I laughed my ass of for a week. Totally worth it. :D
So convincing someone to destroy their expensive computer is your idea of a goodtime? What a jerk!

Lenovo's global shipments went up 16.3% according to the IDC report, which is pretty damn impressive.
That X220 is looking mighty appealing.
Yeah, I just read the review on the X220. Some of the best in class battery life, performance and an IPS screen option (unfortunately not high-res). Looks like a great thinkpad. I'd get one if I needed a smaller/more rugged PC.
Having said that, I see so many apple laptops nowadays - the increased per person purchasing power that most of the developed world has been afforded, combined with the lowering cost of hardware (I remember the days that *any* laptop was a serious *investment*), means that MB and MBP are no longer the high-ticket items they once were...
