LMAO, what did you think this was going to be? Drop a few bombs and disappear? The talk now is that these Rebels fighting Gaddafi have plenty of Al Qaeda in their ranks. This is not going to be a quick in-n-out. Obama's illegal war will be his legacy (well, that and his failed socialized medicine scheme).
Well, I'm certainly glad you're not letting blind partisanship guide your thinking... Oy.

I'm not holding my breath on the Top secret features...it could have been a joke.
ALTHOUGH, Tiger included some features that were so top secret--like the exclusive dotMac widgets--that Apple couldn't even include them in the final release, so you never know! ;)

I really hope that this will be done in a way that can be turned off (i.e - display as normal 2D) as this could really be a bad move for the iPad. The advantage of the iPad is that you can just use it casually, on your lap, on an armrest and so-on; but with 3D the angle has to be just-so or the effect doesn't work.
If it were a feature you can turn on and off easily, and maybe turns on automatically when you place the iPad on a stand, then it could be do-able, otherwise it's just going to be a nightmare as unlike handheld gaming devices you don't hold an iPad in any one-way.
In fact, on that point, is it even possible to have a 3D screen that works both horizontally and vertically? I suppose it could be but it might mean generating four separate images and building the screen to separate them, that's quite a bit of wasted GPU power right there, not to mention manufacturing cost on the screen.

So what electronic has ZERO problems??
The more features that are packed into something, the more chances of issues. Doesn't make the iPhone 4 a "POS".
You've never owned one, so you wouldn't know.
Your veering way off point here. I'm not going to beat the iPhone 4 tragedy anymore, it's been done.
Of course all electronic devices have faults. Some more then others (iPhone 4). The 3GS had more features then the 3G, but didn't have the issues. Your comments are, quite frankly ridiculous. You don't have to own something to know it's crap. Yugos were crap, and most everyone agrees they were crap... Without owning one.
I'm sorry I hurt your feelings because I don't like your phone  but that is what this conversation boils down to at this point. My original feelings to the OP were that if Apple waits, they are going to lose customers. If they start routinely lengthening their iPhone releases, they are heading for disaster.
In fact, they need to start shortening the span, since this market is so competitive. This isn't an attack on your feelings, it's good business.

hmmm why 3gigs of ram and not 4?
Do you think it will work with 2 2gig sticks and they just dont support it?
weird.Yes. I think they just didn't want to scare buyers with an extra $1500 of their insane RAM prices.

If I go to the Australain Apple Store the delivery time for a Black MacBook is 3-5 days.
If I go to configure and upgrade it to 1Gb RAM the delivery time falls to 2-4 days!!!
Ecplain that to me all you rumo(u)r experts:confused:
Looks like someone at apple didn't think things all the way through correctly :p

My prediction: Apple will eventually come out with a 10.6" widescreen "MacBook mini". I think it'll more like 3 lbs, not 2 lbs, though, since that Sony laptop does not have an optical drive. I hope Apple doesn't do away with the optical drive (and I don't think they will), since I think that being a portable DVD player is really a core function of laptops at this point, at least a multimedia and consumer centered laptop (which a MacBook mini would be).
I've seen the Fujitsu 10.6" LifeBook laptops with built-in optical drive and they are sweeeeeeeeeeeet!:

One thing about the Fujitsu computers though - they are *expensive* (about $2000). Since Apple is one of the best companies in the world at making very compact products, maybe they can release a game-changing computer in this category. I mean, what if Apple were to basically release the MacBook, just with a smaller screen - and for about the same price as the MacBook!! Apple would have a monster hit on its hands, IMHO. It would be extremely popular with a lot of customers, but especially with students that are already carrying already heavy books, etc. in their bookbags, and would love a lighter, more compact computer...
I just don't see that happening, even if they have an optical drive in it. Apple is content with the portable line as it is, and the MacBook is pretty compact already. Plus, I don't see Apple using a smaller widescreen than 13.3".

Ya, it doesn't have a nice 'Apple' look to it.
This is a concept drawing I did a while back .... I'm hoping the Apple Phone is more like this ... but I doubt it.

*sigh* No dedicated graphics. I know most of us would kill for a Geforce 7300/7400 Go build to order option.
Hopefully Intel and Apple can get some performance out of the GMA X3000.

halo = quake rip off.
All FPS games are a "rip off" of each other in one way or another. That doesn't make Halo any less fun to me.

I think they meant the build they showed last night, which is the same build they showed in Feb, is an old version that's no where near what the final version in terms of features.
All reports are that this was the February version.
And it makes sense, Apple likes to keep things secret. Sure they showed sone features but really nothing that was a huge surprise. Not even the whole Mac App Store and dropping FCE was all that shocking. That they did all of it at once perhaps was. But I bet they have something wild they are revealing until later. If I was a crazy betting person I would say something related to blu-ray(but still without internal drives)

Okay, I mostly agree with the comments that this is being overblown because the AE card inside the Mac is not being used. But....
Two things:
1) I re-iterate my comment much earlier that this does point to a long-term problem that has to do with the fact that there is no real non-discoverable mode available in most implementations of the Wi-Fi client driver, as there is with Bluetooth devices and with Wi-Fi host drivers in routers (why? because I'm pretentious! :p ).
2) I don't completely understand this business of an external card being used. Can anyone help me out? So an external card was used in OS X, correct? Don't most OS X external cards that do work, work based off the driver that is shipped with OS X and not with a driver provided separately by the card vendor? Installing drivers in OS X is very rare. Does the unnamed external card use the same OS X driver used for the AE card, or does it use a different one? If it uses the same one, it's not clear that the driver in OS X is completely safe.
Not panicking here...but this seems like an opportunity to improve computer security for us all...
