there goes some of sony's good brand quality image.
one the good side. I once had to swap out a battery from apple before.
it was quick and easy. honestly i am a power user, travel tons.
could use a new fresh pair of batteries anyway. i am checking to see if any of my 3 are swapable.
hey not a bad thing. this is preventative. my batteries have been fine, aside from losing life after tons of charges.

Nice update except for the videocard and maybe the price. It's good that it arrives now for the people who were waiting for the update.

Good luck to you guys. As far as stocks for the general population, what a completely botched release by Apple.
In Australia I've checking Apple.com.au regularly. Initially after the first handful were released, their web site has shown 3-4 weeks, that was up for 2 weeks, then dropped to 2-3 weeks, which has now been up for 2 weeks+
Be nice to have some sort of very rough idea!!
You would own one now if you had ordered when they had a 3-4 week lead time.

Well I've owned a few iphones and I've dropped less calls with the iP4 than the others.
No issues with the screen, which is by far and away the #1 reason its better than any before it. There is no question in my mind that its the best phone I've used extensively, and without question (IMO, that is) better than any iPhone before it.
Original iPhone was the best form factor though, the feel of it was so much better than the iPhone 4.
Even given that its just your opinion, to say its a POS, is simple hyperbole, and discredits any argument you may have that it is not as good as its predecessors.
I'm happy it's working for you, but that doesnt mean they were problem free.
The rest is your opinion, not fact.... But since you like the iPhone 4 your opinion must count more then mine right?
Yes your right... Me saying it's a POS negates any opinion I have. Why didn't I see that?
Oh right. Cause a lot of people agree. And it's important. And I want the iPhone 5 soon, so I can rid myself of the 3GS, and hear from all you fanbois that IT is the best phone eva omgwtf everyone has to agree or they don't know what they are talking abot!!!!!!

found a hidden page to link to the locations with ipads for radio shack...

Nice find!! And, as I suspected, places that I know don't have a Best Buy are on here. Good job Apple marketing!

I'm guessing you mean 3Gbps...
Apple likes firewire, they made it. eSATA is nice, but you can't daisy chain the drives. That's why I like firewire so much.
I meant 3000 Mbps, thanks for pointing out the typo.

In a word, no. I've seen the demonstrations on the Internet about how you can find another person using a Zune and give them a song they can play three times. It takes forever. By the time you've gone through all that, the girl's got up and left! You're much better off to take one of your earbuds out and put it in her ear. Then you're connected with about two feet of headphone cable.
So in other words. With Zune you can share music wirelessly. With an iPod you can increase the chances of getting to the next base! That is a great feature!

This firmware update seems like a good thing, but I'm just afraid of the computer shutting down even though it supposedly ignores temp readings. I tried running the hardware diagnostic, and guess what. The MacBook still shut down- multiple times while trying to run the test. I was unable to get the diagnostic to run at all. Should I just call Apple up and start demanding answers and taking no prisoners? Or should I be more sly about it? I'm just starting to get pissed off at what I thought was a great computer company.
Just do it, have some faith. It is the best update I ever did. My mac does not shut down anymore and it works better. And the firmware update only takes a few seconds, i too was worried about it shutting down during the firmware update, but do you think apple would put out a update like that. Could you imagine the mess if half of the macbooks died during the update and would not boot anymore? They would not take that chance.
So just do it, it will work for you, and maybe restore some faith in apple.

Easiest solution is to skip Adobe... they've continually disregarded market "prices" for their products for years (even MS grew up to the fact that you can't charge end users $750 per license for Office when free alternatives exist). There are legitimately better applications produced by smaller companies as well as Apple without having to spend this kind of atrocious amount of money. Products from IMSI, Omni, etc. are cheap and very good. $650 for PS? Gimmie a break... it isn't worth 1/10 of that...
I'm using Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. For people like me it's an excellent product. It includes all the features someone like me (a keen amateur) needs and only costs 65.
Whilst Adobe's UK pricing is bordering on criminal, at least PSE is an affordable option.

I am glad to see someone else is a little confused and it wasn't just me. I have seen the 1.1 and 1.8, but not the 1.3 million batteries. I just want to know which number it really is.
From engadget
"Apple has just recalled 1.8 million iBook and PowerBook laptop batteries, 1.1 million of those in the US and 700,000 abroad"

"a substantial amount of screen real estate" ...
This sounds like the 8lb iPod SJ previously mentioned! I am looking forward to this thing...whatever form it takes...:p
Except this iPod would only be 2 lbs...or less.

Mine IS affected but the site is down! So annoying!
Doesn't matter. I think the script they were using was broken anyway. I tried to enter my affected serial number a bunch of ways and it wouldn't accept it. My guess is that they took the site down to fix the issue.
Or it could be because the story hit the front page of Digg :)

So how do you work this Album Artist tag?
What I would expect is to put the artists (separated by comas or something) in that tag, and then that song will show up under all those listed artists.
The way it is now doesn't make any difference in organization/categorization of the archive.
How do you guys use it?
